Intel Core i7-6920HQ Overview
Intel Core i7-6920HQ is a high-end CPU announced on 01.09.2015. It is part of the Skylake generation and has a base frequency of 2.9 GHz. If higher performance is needed, its cores can be automatically overclocked (TurboBoost), and the frequency can reach: 3.4 GHz – when all of them are used; 3.6 GHz – when two of them are used; and 3.8 GHz – when only one is used.
The chip also features 256 KB first-level cache, 1 MB second-level cache and 8 MB third-level cache. Core i7-6920HQ has been manufactured through a 14 nm process and it includes an integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 GPU. Its base frequency is 350 MHz which can be increased up to 1050 MHz thanks to the TurboBoost option. The chip’s power consumption is 45 Watts and the maximum operational temperature is 100 degrees Celsius.

The Intel Core i7-6970HQ is a fast quad-core processor for notebooks based on the Skylake architecture and was introduced in the beginning of 2016. Besides four CPU cores including Hyperthreading, which are clocked between 2.8-3.7 GHz (probable Turbo steps: 4 cores: up to 3.3 GHz, 2 cores: up to 3.5 GHz), the processor also includes a very fast graphics unit. The Iris Pro Graphics 580 (GT4e) has 72 EUs as well as 128 MB eDRAM cache, which can also be used by the CPU cores. It is manufactured using a 14 nm process with FinFET transistors.
