J9142B Overview
The HP ProCurve J9142B X112 1000Base-BX-D SFP Transceiver is a 1Gbps bidirectional (BiDi) optical module designed for Gigabit Ethernet applications over single-mode fiber (SMF). It delivers long-reach connectivity up to 20km, making it well-suited for enterprise, campus, and metropolitan network deployments requiring extended distances with efficient fiber utilization.This module uses WDM (wavelength-division multiplexing) to enable bidirectional transmission over a single fiber strand, significantly reducing fiber infrastructure costs. The J9142B operates with a 1490nm transmit (Tx) and 1310nm receive (Rx) wavelength and must be paired with the complementary J9143B (1000Base-BX-U, 1310Tx/1490Rx) for proper link operation.
