The HP 721000-002 is a high-performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ optical transceiver designed for iSCSI storage and short-range networking applications. It operates over multi-mode fiber (MMF) using an 850nm wavelength and supports the 10GBase-SR standard, providing reliable connectivity up to 300 meters on OM3 fiber and up to 400 meters on OM4 fiber. The module features a duplex LC connector for secure fiber termination and is hot-swappable, allowing installation without service disruption. It supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) for real-time parameter tracking such as temperature, voltage, and optical power.
