The HP AM872A FIO 8/80 FC Switch Power Pack is a high-density enterprise-class Fibre Channel switch designed for large-scale SAN environments that require high performance, scalability, and flexibility. It belongs to the HP 8/80 SAN switch family, which offers 80 physical ports of 8Gbps Fibre Channel, out of which 48 ports are active in this particular model. The switch comes with Power Pack (licensed software bundle), which includes advanced features such as fabric watch, performance monitoring, advanced security, adaptive networking, and extended fabric capabilities, making it well-suited for mission-critical and heavily virtualized data center environments.
