The Dell 400-BJKW 16TB 7.2K RPM SAS 12GBPS hard drive is designed to provide high-performance data storage and transfer capabilities. The SAS 12GB/s interface provides a fast data transfer rate of up to 12 Gbps, which is faster than previous versions of SAS, allowing for faster data transfer to and from the hard drive. Additionally, the hard drive has a 512MB cache buffer which helps to improve overall performance and increase the drive’s sustained data transfer rate up to 270MB/s. The 7200 RPM spindle speed also contributes to faster data access times, which is important for applications that require quick data access, such as databases and virtualization.
