The HP 878405-001 is a high-speed 16-Gigabit Fibre Channel (16GFC) shortwave SFP+ optical transceiver designed for enterprise-class SAN (Storage Area Network) environments. Operating at a wavelength of 850nm over multi-mode fiber (MMF), it supports data rates up to 14.025 Gbps and is backward compatible with 8GFC (8.5 Gbps) and 4GFC (4.25 Gbps) standards. This module provides a maximum transmission distance of up to 100 meters on OM3 fiber and 125 meters on OM4 fiber, making it ideal for high-throughput, low-latency storage and server connections. It features a standard duplex LC connector and supports hot-swappable installation for minimal downtime during upgrades or replacements.
