SFP1000BXUST Overview

The StarTech SFP1000BXUST is a 1000Base-BX BiDi SFP transceiver module designed for Gigabit Ethernet communication over a single strand of single-mode fiber. Unlike standard duplex modules, it uses Bi-Directional (BiDi) technology to transmit and receive data on different wavelengths over one fiber cable, transmitting at 1310nm and receiving at 1490nm. This makes it the complementary pair to BXD modules, enabling efficient two-way communication while reducing fiber infrastructure requirements. With a maximum reach of up to 10 kilometers, it is ideal for enterprise networks, campus deployments, and access-layer connectivity where fiber availability is limited. The module features a simplex LC connector and complies with IEEE 802.3z standards, ensuring reliable optical performance.
