868243-001 Overview
The HP 868243-001 is a 40-Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ bidirectional optical transceiver optimized for short-reach, high-bandwidth data center links over multi-mode fiber. Leveraging bidirectional (BiDi) transmission technology, it enables full 40Gbps data throughput over just two fibers (one pair), drastically reducing fiber count and simplifying cabling. Operating on the 850nm wavelength range with WDM multiplexing, it supports distances of up to 100 meters on OM3 fiber and 150 meters on OM4 fiber. It features a standard duplex LC connector, making it easy to deploy within existing MMF infrastructures. This hot-swappable module supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) for real-time diagnostics such as temperature, transmit power, and receive power.
