QSFP-40G-SRBD Overview

The Arista QSFP-40G-SRBD is a high-speed 40Gbps QSFP+ transceiver module designed for short-range data transmission over multi-mode fiber using BiDi (bidirectional) technology. Unlike traditional SR4 modules that require multiple fiber strands, this BiDi transceiver operates over a duplex LC connection, enabling 40Gbps communication on just two fibers by using dual wavelengths (918nm and 953nm). It supports distances of up to 100 meters, making it ideal for data centers, high-performance computing environments, and enterprise network backbones. This module helps reduce cabling complexity and infrastructure costs by allowing reuse of existing duplex MMF cabling. It supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), providing real-time insights into parameters such as temperature, voltage, and optical power for improved network management and reliability.
