The Seagate ST3840FM0003 (Nytro 1200.2 series) is a 3.84 TB enterprise 2.5-inch, 15 mm SAS solid-state drive built for read-intensive server workloads: it uses enterprise MLC (eMLC) flash in a light-endurance configuration and a dual-port 12 Gb/s SAS interface for high availability and redundant I/O paths, making it suitable for virtualization, caching, and database acceleration. It delivers very high sustained throughput (sequential reads approaching ~1.8â1.9 GB/s and sequential writes in the ~770â800 MB/s range) and strong random performance (random reads in the ~180kâ190k IOPS class and random writes around ~30kâ38k IOPS at typical queue depths), with average latencies optimized for consistent low-latency access.
