1M25-U3-M2-ADAPTER Overview
The StarTech is a TAA-compliant PCIe M.2 to 2.5-inch U.3 host adapter engineered to integrate an M.2 NVMe SSD seamlessly into an enterprise-grade U.3 (SFF-TA-1001) drive bay or server backplane. Supporting PCIe Gen 4 and lower interfaces, this converter changes the physical form factor of 2242, 2260, or 2280 M.2 drives without sacrificing bandwidth, utilizing a chipset-free architecture to preserve pure, native read and write speeds. Its open-frame design promotes superior airflow and easily accommodates larger M.2 heatsinks, while its OS-independent, driver-free configuration simplifies deployment across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. Note that this high-performance adapter is strictly designed for NVMe-to-U.3 ecosystems and is not compatible with standard U.2, SATA, or SAS host controllers.
